Financial Benefits
Along with the obvious financial benefits of lower running cost and short pay back periods the Minister of Finance, Brian Lenihan TD, extended the scope of the energy-efficient equipment covered by the Accelerated Capital Allowance (ACA) scheme to include refrigeration and cooling equipment. The ACA scheme was first introduced in 2008 and provides for capital allowance of 100% in the first year in which the expenditure is incurred on energy-efficient equipment covered by the scheme. The scheme is managed by Sustainable Energy Ireland.
